Doctor's Appointment

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant prayer; Romans 12:12

I took Garhett in this morning for his doctor's appointment. Our beloved Dr. came in as joyful and kind as ever. He was wearing a big smile and said,"Well.......we have ruled out all of the "big" things this could be. You are a very healthy young man and will continue to be. Growing pains hurt!" What an answer to prayer! He had all the classic signs of some major things going on in his body. The doc talked with us for awhile, then asked us to go into his office, so we could take a look at the CT scan. It was so interesting. Boy, what modern medicine can do. We saw Garhett's vertebra, heart, lungs, liver..you name it! What a gift to see inside of your body and know that you are okay! Garhett is still in pain, but is doing better with rest. He can't lift weights again, of course, until doctor okay's it. That will probably be awhile. I asked if his heart murmur was closed up and the doc said there's no sign of it! Thank you Jesus!!
Our doctor  is a very good friend of ours and his family. His wife was such an inspiration to me when I wanted to start Garhett in homeschooling. I didn't know any other homeschoolers and she came along my path and mentored me all the way! His daughters, during cherry harvest time, watched our little ones for us, while we worked the orchard. They are dear, dear people. Dr. M. started snickering and said when he attended his church service yesterday there was a prayer request for a boy named Garhett who had several holes in his lungs and wasn't doing well! He, of course, knew it was our Garhett and he said he wanted to stand up and say, "No! No! I am his doctor and he has checked out just fine!" Isn't that the way how gossip and things start? Everyone adds a little bit more! Funny!
My brother, who had a heart transplant eight years ago, had an appointment with his doctor today as well...in a town three hours from ours. Everything for him has checked out as well. He is a walking miracle and I am so thankful I can still have him with me! His wife is pregnant with their second child, it's a boy and she's due in May. I am so excited!! Another blessing to add to our family! I also have a niece, who was married this summer, and she is going to have a baby in June! I am going to be a great Aunt! I can't believe it!!
Well, I am a very happy Mama tonight and again, God is good and all of you are very much appreciated! Thanks for your prayers and concerns! Good night and God bless you all!
