Wow! All I can say is...ASi 2011 was phenomenal! We barely made it Tuesday evening at 6pm, to Pastor Doug Bachelor's church! It was so good to see Garhett and meet all of his new friends. The "vacation" started with a multiple baptism of kids! So, so cool! We also saw Tori's best friend who has been in Africa for 3 months! Wow...she has gotten tall! All the girls that Garhett went to Y4J, have changed... their characters are even sweeter!
The kids together again!
There were over 300 booths to discover! These ministries people have started, with the Lords' leading is awesome! We met so many new friends, saw old friends and heard some powerful sermons! Pastor Doug Bachelor, Pastor Ivor Myers, Pastor Ted Wilson....etc.
The kids were so excited because they got to meet Miss Brenda from "Kid's Time" (on 3ABN) and they met Uncle Dan and Aunt Sue from "Your Story Hour". They also met this beautiful couple from the Ellen G. White museum who told them amazing stories. What good and precious things they have to think back on during this time in their lives.
All of our kids attended the children's program that they had. On Friday evening they had each class come up and share some of what they had been learning and to sport their new shirts! There were about 4,000+ people in the auditorium, so it was difficult to get a good photo of the kids. You can see Ellie and little bit of Seth. It was a great experience for them to get to show their love for Jesus to the world!
After our wonderful experience in California, we decided to go up the coast, camp and play at the ocean. The first night we got there we heard a ship, so we walked down to the pier to find this! All night long we could hear the waves and the ships coming to shore...it was wonderful!
We played in the dunes, we took a tour in a dune-buggie, over the dunes and down! We went for long walks on the beach and played in the sand. It was a much needed vacation!
We came home to Rhett's brother and kids visiting, but we missed him by a day! We also had friend's come and visit for the weekend. We haven't seen them in over a year. Their two boys have gotten so big! Their daughter was adopted from China and is just a little doll baby. It's amazing, they have been coming to our house, at least once a year or so, since our boys were small. Now the boys who were little are now 17, 16, 13, 12.
We have so much in common with them. We both home school and have a deep love for the Lord. How time has flown! It was great visiting with them. They left this morning, now we need to focus on getting curriculum for this next school year and getting back into a routine!
It's nice to be home...God bless!
Glad you made it home safely. Keep hearing stories about YfJ summer escapades. Seems like there was great spiritual experiences. My daughter met you...lucky girl! :)
