Things are back to a routine around here. All but Garhett, which will start for him next week. He will be the college man of the home!
Nathan, he is doing exceptionally well. I feared by his injuries, his scars would be bad. When I first caught a glimpse of it, my mind wandered to,"what could be." We made quick-time, in getting him to the hospital. We had a wonderful physician, the ointments we have been using are wonderful, but most of all....we have a God who knew the beginning and the end. So many people were praying for our little boy and prayers are being answered.
Friday, when he got his stitches out, I had a difficult day. The nurse used tools that were to large and wasn't very gentle. When the stitches were finally out, I wanted to cry at what he looked like. I knew the swelling would go down, but I thought the scars would look better. Well, today is a new day and he's laughing, eating, playing and learning!! As Ellie said this morning," Good ole Nate, he is back to his good ole self!"
I guess I have been re-living my past with stitches. I also was nine years old. Mine was caused from a motorcylce accident. Mine was much worse, 40+ stitches on my face, but the incident was worse for Nathan. Mine was an accident, his was an attack. I never had the nightmares he has had. He LOVES animals....he said he will continue to. He has been free of these bad dreams for three nights.
Praise the Lord, for taking care of my boys' scars and dreams. He can clean up anything, if only we are willing to ask Him! Praise the Lord!!
