Yesterday was Father's Day, but the Father of this home had to be at a church business meeting, in a far away town. So, we spent time as a family together on Sabbath. It was camp meeting weekend, so a few of the area churches were closed, including ours. We took advantage of not having any responsibilities at church and we went on a hike. I kept telling myself I could do it, with my asthma lately it's been hard to even climb our stairs, but I have been improving. I made it all the way up the mountain, doing pretty well. I forgot my inhaler in the van, but I did okay. Nathan wasn't feeling well, but he trodded along. He had a fever, but the fresh air was so good for him. Come to find out Ellie and Garhett weren't feeling their best, but the hike was fun. We decided to turn around when we noticed signs of bear crossings! It looked rather recent, so we thought that was a good turn around point!
Yesterday, we said good-bye to the exchange students that had been living with my brother and his family this year. It was difficult and the thought couldn't help to pass through your mind, "Will I see them again on this earth?" They are dear girls and will be missed. One is from Germany and the other from S. Korea. The tears freely flowed. I was able to meet the German girls' mother and uncle. They were very sweet and I enjoyed the time we had with them.
The kids and I then went and gave my dad a Father's Day gift. He appreciated it and they were able to spend some time with him.
We then came home, the kids finished their chores while I made:
Veggie Chicken patties
Unsausages
eight loaves of bread
I guess I felt I didn't do enough, so I cut all four boys hair, I took two inches off of the girls hair and when Rhett came home I sat him down and cut his hair and beard. I get so much accomplished when hubby isn't home! Why is that? Well, we love being together and it's more fun to just be!
I am praying the fevers will be gone today. Normally I keep my kids home when they have a temp., but I really wanted to say good-bye to the girls!
Rhett, took the three older kids to work with him this morning. He had a lot of classrooms to move and he needed their help. So, it will be a special time with just me and the three little ones. I am expecting them home around lunch time, then off to the pool! The sun is shining and promises to be a beautiful day!
God bless you everyone!
