It is summer, so they say! What has happened to our "Dog Dayz of Summer"? So much for global warming, eh?
We have been picking cherries for ourselves, for friends and family. I think I have one more dehydrator full to do, then I am done!
I have also been working in my garden and my herbs. The lavender is gorgeous this year! I have gotten a few pickings and I think there will be more. This time of year is a lot of work, but it's so fun! I love to see the children working and building their characters!
These three sure know how to pick cherries the right way! Half of the ones they pick go into their mouths, though! Can you see the evidence on their faces?
These two are wonderful piters! They washed pitted and dried 6 quarts of cherries, while I was washing and pitting 6 quarts of cherries to freeze and making six loaves of bread.....
This is the "little boys" best friend, Anthony. They had a blast camping together at Faith Camp this year. I pray they will always be friends!
This is our Mama cat, she is such a great mother. She had a litter of four little ones. Today was a sad day for our children. Two of the kittens were taken. My children are sensitive, but they are not "criers". They have been more sensitive lately, though. This is one of the reasons why (giving beloved kittens away). The other reason is that Garhett has been gone for over two weeks. It seems a lot longer than that, though. He calls us every day and texts. He is very good at keeping in touch with us. Every time I talk to him, his voice gets lower! Seth, talked to him two nights ago and couldn't even say good-bye, he was crying so hard! I couldn't help but cry too. I held him for a half an hour or more, just letting him get it out. I am so thankful he has attached himself to his new family. He knows how it feels to lose someone and to him he has lost Garhett. He understands we will go and get him soon, but for him to completely understand that, we will have to be seeing Garhett in person.
Garhett is making many new "forever" friends. When you are like minded to another person, it doesn't take long to become close friends! He is so excited to be with people who are so driven to get the gospel out to the world! It's fun to listen to his stories and for him to say,"Mama, the city isn't like the country where we live!" You know it feels like the city is creeping in to where we live, but he says from being there, he doesn't feel like it's so bad now!
This is is where we were on Sabbath. Even though it rained off and on, it was still beautiful! I can't imagine what heaven will be like!
Well, VBS (at our church) starts tonight, so I better get the children fed and cleaned up!
God bless!
