So, cherries are almost over. My back hurts from picking cherries, washing cherries, pitting cherries, etc., etc., etc.! I am so fortunate to live in an area where we have an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. It makes being a vegetarian a whole lot easier! Tomorrow I need to harvest some more herbs and my lavender! It rained today, which was unexpected, so it slowed things down a bit. It sure was a nice change!
We heard from Garhett again. He is having a great time and loves the Bible studies and the Evangelistic series going on. He's glad because he can talk and see his "girl friends'" more than he thought he would. (These are beautiful, innocent young ladies whom he has been friends with since he was 7 years old. They are just friends. So when I refer to his "girl friends", it means just that!!) He was telling me today that some of the kids there are getting "care-packages" from home. He informed me that the adults in charge there allow this. I asked him, if we were to send something what would he like? He said he would like sunflower seeds, pumpkins seeds, maybe some home made cookies. I asked him if he wanted me to send a kitty, too....he replied back, "no, but if you can fit, send you!" I was in a public place when he said this and I was biting my lip so I wouldn't cry. I really tried, but a few tears fell. How can I help it? He misses home and he's trying not to be home sick, he's trying to be his "self-controlled" self, but it's so good to know he misses us all.
Well, I better get myself to bed. We have a long day tomorrow. God bless!!!!
Sweet! My girls don't get homesick - they just call me every few hours!!! I get a blow-by-blow times 2. Vanessa had been talking about possibly doing Youth Rush next summer, but not anymore. She's so excited about doing YFJ again next summer and preaching next time. Vanessa said to me, and then Brianna said it later, that Garhett is known as the Farmer Boy. She said he's different in that "the other boys don't know anything about life". LOL. She means of course, that he has had a practical upbringing in the area of work! So, it has been too cold for swimming this week. Maybe it will warm up now? When we finally make a plan to come over and swim can Cindy come, too?
