So, Garhett and I had an agreement....I have always like my boys to have short hair cuts. Garhett, has been wanting to grow his out. I told him he could, if he kept it nice. He doesn't have your "typical" guy hair. His hair is thicker than anyone I have ever met. It is a beautiful auburn and he has some curls! I really liked the top of it, but the sides were getting wild! I couldn't handle it anymore....
After our "last" home study, which was 45 minutes long and fun! Fun?, I can hear you say. It was so nice to know we were done and it was like chatting with an old friend.
So anyway, I was going to cut Garhett's hair, just a trim to make it look neater. Well, my razor broke (his hair has broken down several, not his fault, just the way the Lord created him....oh to have hair like that!!) so I had to take him into town to get a "professional" cut. We agreed on what to tell the gal, but he didn't need me to go in with him.... (oh when I use to be needed!) This is only his second hair cut done by someone else besides me. (It looks good, but I would have rather of done it!)
We have a box, that our church supports, where we put magazines and free literature. I am in charge of stocking the one that was by the place Garhett was getting his hair cut. I had some new stuff I needed to put in there, so as Garhett was waiting for his cut, I left the others in the car and walked down to the box. (I could see the van plainly) I was re-arranging the literature and fixing it, when one my children thought it would be a good idea to honk! Oh brother!! When I heard that I pulled my right hand out to shake my finer "no" at them, but the door closed faster than my hand could get out and SMASHED my thumb! Oh, that hurt so bad...I went back to the van, had some "words" with the Culprit and looked at my big, bruising thumb! I can barely bend it and it looks terrible! Oh well, my pointer finger, right by it has a burn on it from the oven, so it's keeping good company!
Our meetings at church are going really well. It's exciting to see so many people who are seeking the truth! I am enjoying having it refreshed in my own mind and seeing the excitement of my children. It's something I have taught them since they were born, but to hear it from an accomplished, well known preacher is something else! Tori, went right up to the Pastor and said, "I would like it if you would baptize me!" He looked at her and said, "That would be a wonderful experience for me, as well!" Can you imagine being baptized by a speaker like that? What a great memory!
Well, I gotta run. The kids have music lessons and A&P class and all that...and tonight we are having our "family" birthday party for Seth. He will be seven tomorrow....this is his first birthday in America...he's so excited! How the Lord has blessed us! Have a great spring day!!
