Yesterday marked a year, from the day we met our new son in Ethiopia! How can it have gone so fast? It seems like he has just gotten here, but yet I feel he's always been here! There are many of you who understand my meaning, in that!
When we met him, he was shy, malnurished, tired, etc., etc., etc. It didn't take him very long to come jumping into our arms. He did have expectations of what he thought life would be like with "American's". Those ideals have soon changed. He was use to doing things without asking and just reaping the consequence, if one came.... While in Ethiopia, I got to know him, tried to set boundaries, but it was difficult. Where we stayed, there was staff around all the time. We had very little "alone" time with him. There were a few times, if we had been home, he would have "caught-it", if you catch my meaning. Honestly though, we had some times where days were rough, but he is a smart learner and caught on really quick that his ideas were not my ideas! He has a great heart and accepted Christ into it, (before we were even in his life). This has made life a lot easier. He is a doll and I am loving every minute of being his Mama.
Tuesday is our last homstudy visit! That will be nice to have all of that over with. Thursday is Seth's 7th Birthday! We are also having Prophecy meetings at our church on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They are exciting and refreshing. The kids are enjoying it also! It's great to hear the "Old Time Religion" once more in our day and age.
May you be blessed on this day that the Lord rose, so many years ago, so He would be able to keep His promise of coming back again to take us home with Him! I can't wait to see my grandparents rise from their graves, the babies that I never got to hold, I will be able to! Such a blessed day, may we all be ready to meet Him in the clouds! Amen!!
