A Phone Call....Left With Three.....?

I received a phone call last night at 9:30....driving home from Inchelium. This wasn't a typical phone call. This was a phone call I shall NEVER forget!
The phone was ringing in my purse, but with all of the road noise, I barely heard it. It was by the grace of God that I did, because I wouldn't have wanted to miss it!
I answered and said,"Oh, hi!"
(it was was my son, Garhett, who is in Texas)
There wasn't a hello or a hi or a how ya doin'?
This is how the conversation went;
"Oh, hi!" I said.
"I just want to thank you, Mama," Garhett started out.
"I just want to thank you for what you have taught me."
I can't speak...all of a sudden there's a knot in my throat, growing hotter every second. My eyes start burning as I am biting my lip.
"Mama, tonight was the best sermon the Lord has allowed me to speak. I was speaking on Salvation. I had my Ipad up there with me, I was on my third slide, when all of a sudden everything went blank. It was dead! I didn't panic..Mama, this was the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit allowed this to happen, because in a split second....verses you had taught me and things you had taught me were running through my head. I could hear your voice! All those days homeschooling and being with you were running through my mind! I told them verses and three or four stories that you had told me. So, I just want to thank you for being my Mama! You saved me tonight!"
I am trying to speak....tears running down my cheeks as Rhett is driving and holding my hand. You know, there are many mother's who go to their graves, never hearing from their child, "thank you!"
Sure, I have made mistakes. I am human, but I have always prayed the Lord would cover my mistakes and He has answered my prayers!
Yesterday, was a very emotional, bitter/sweet day. Garhett's in Texas, we dropped Mitchell and Tori off at their first Young Disciple Camp and I get this phone call! I don't deserve these kids! God is sooo good to me.
So, back to my phone call......
Garhett, knows me! So he says,"Mama, I have something to tell you that happened to me today. Everyone is talking about it! I will tell you about it, then you'll be able to talk to me again. So, a friend of mine and I had to go to the laundromat. On the way there, I noticed a western store. So, we get to the laundromat and you know it takes like an hour to wash. So, I decided to walk to the western store we saw. So, I took off by myself, in the heat.....a mile and a half! So, I get there and walk in. I asked the person in there, "Do you have cowboy hats for sale?" The person informed me...."this is Western Union!" Yeah, I always have to have a story, huh"
Funny kid! No one will ever let him forget that one!
So, the rest of my title.....we are left or down to three little kids! It's so strange, but fun just to have these three for a few days! The house is pretty quiet!
May the Lord richly bless each follower!

    2. She is doing well!! She is being stretched beyond her usual abilities and is really excited about it. She was so thrilled to share with Vanessa at 5 AM on the cell some new to her Bible concepts that she hadn't realized before . . . God is good. So proud of our kids and their commitment to Christ.

  2. Yes Bethany and Emily were very excited to tell how he lost his note page but that the appeal was so very good- better than planned! That's the way the Lord works. It is very humbling to be thanked by your children. I have had similar experience. It makes all those days when you 'wonder' if all the prayers, teaching and time are worth it- well we "know" it is- but when it all comes together for them and they can see where our efforts have been focused in their lives then we know the Lord has been making our feble effort to amount to something because he has been carring the bulk in yoke all along!
